How to use
- 1Drop a PDF file on the box or click to choose one.
- 2Choose JPG or PNG, a resolution (72, 150 or 300 DPI) and, for JPG, a quality level.
- 3Optionally enter pages, e.g. 1-3,5,8- (leave empty for all pages).
- 4Click “Convert to images” and download pages one by one or all at once.
Which resolution to choose
PDF pages are measured in points (1/72 inch), so 72 DPI gives one pixel per point: a US Letter page becomes 612 × 792 pixels and an A4 page about 595 × 842 — fine for thumbnails and previews. 150 DPI (1275 × 1650 for Letter) is a good default for documents, slides and email attachments. 300 DPI (2550 × 3300 for Letter) is print quality and keeps small text sharp when zoomed. Very large pages are scaled down automatically to about 16 megapixels so the browser doesn’t run out of memory.
JPG or PNG?
JPG produces much smaller files and suits scanned pages and photos; the quality slider (30–100%) trades size for sharpness, and the default of 85% is a good balance. PNG is lossless, so text, line art and screenshots stay perfectly crisp without compression artifacts, at the cost of larger files. Transparent areas are filled with white in both formats, so pages never render on a black background. Each image is named after the PDF plus its page number, e.g. report-3.jpg.
Private by design
Pages are rendered with pdf.js, the open-source PDF engine that also powers Firefox’s built-in viewer, running inside your browser. Your document is read from your disk and processed locally, so contracts, bank statements or medical letters never leave your computer. Password-protected PDFs can’t be opened — remove the password first in a PDF reader you trust.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert only one page of a PDF to JPG?
Type the page number in the Pages field (e.g. 4) before converting. Ranges like 2-5 and open ranges like 8- (page 8 to the end) also work.
Is there a file size or page limit?
There is no fixed limit; it depends on your device’s memory. Long documents at 300 DPI take longer because pages are rendered one after another.
Can I convert PDF to PNG instead?
Yes. Choose PNG in the Format menu to get lossless images.
Why does “Download all” ask for permission?
The images are downloaded one after another, and some browsers ask once whether the site may download multiple files. Allow it to receive every page.
