How to use
- 1Choose the duration (1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds).
- 2Choose mouse/tap mode or space bar mode.
- 3Click the box (or press Space) to start, and keep clicking until time runs out.
- 4Read your CPS, total clicks and rating, and see whether you beat your best.
How the CPS test works
The timer starts with your first click and stops after the chosen time. Your score is total clicks divided by the seconds, so 50 clicks in 5 seconds is 10 CPS. Short tests (1–5 s) measure your peak burst speed; 30- and 60-second tests measure endurance, and most people slow down noticeably over a minute. The rating goes from Turtle (under 4 CPS) through Average (6–8) and Fast (8–10) to Lightning (13+).
What is a good CPS?
An average user reaches about 6–7 CPS with normal clicking. Jitter clicking (tensing the arm to vibrate the finger) often reaches 10–14 CPS, and butterfly clicking — alternating two fingers on one button — can go higher. Butterfly and drag clicking can register very high numbers depending on the mouse. Many Minecraft PvP servers watch for unusually high CPS, so check the rules of the server you play on.
Space bar mode
Space bar mode measures how fast you can tap a key instead of a mouse button — useful for keyboard-heavy games and for comparing keyboard switches. Holding the key down doesn’t count; each press must be a separate tap. Best scores are kept separately for each duration and mode in your browser’s local storage, and you can reset them at any time.
